Hi Y’all,
Long email. Couldn’t help it.
I have updated the schedule on the website – there was an error when I tried to do it last week! So be sure to get the updated to reflect the changes for 12/13 and 12/20! https://goparr.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/2014_PARR_Training_Plans_v6_AG.pdf (Just be sure you’re logged in to be able to access!)
We had another HUGE response for the PARR Charitable Christmas Giving! Everyone jumped on board and started claiming items! Lisa & Sarah will go shopping for the last few items for the two teenage boys with the cash donations that people rallied together for. It will be a Christmas they will never forget. Now we need to get all of the WRAPPED AND LABELLED gifts to Lisa BY WEDNESDAY DEC 10! She will be collecting them at two locations: Berry Miller Jr High on FM 1128 and at her house on the East side: 2105 Stonehollow Ct Pearland 77581. Lisa is still collecting $$ and gift cards – and those can be sent to her as well. Just be sure to get ALL to her BY NEXT WEDENSDAY…WRAPPED AND LABELLED for the specific child.
Pam also sent out an invite to the 3rd Annual PARR Jingle Bell Run for Dec 13th. All info can be found here: https://goparr.com/3rd-annual-jingle-bell-run/ – For those that are new to PARR, this is our little fun run for kids. It will be a lap around the playground path at Centennial. No Garmins allowed 🙂 We’ll have donuts, chocolate milk and prizes! We all see each other on the runs and hear about our families and kids…this is your chance to prove you weren’t just making it all up. Just be sure to RSVP/Register so Pam has an idea of how many kiddos will be there!
We do have a few races this weekend. San Antonio RocknRoll Full & Half Marathon…I know, for at least one, it’s her first full marathon! Knock ‘em dead Kasey. And a tradition for others to do the Half – We want to see y’all on the front page of the paper again, ladies! It’s also RunGirl 13.1 here in Houston…PARR ladies are ready to make their mark!
And everyone else…grinding it out with another climb in mileage. 12 miles for HM and 24 miles for FM. This is a fast finish run, with the last 3 (HM) and 6 (FM) are AT your goal pace. Before that, you want a nice easy talking pace (typically your HM or FM + 1 min. Remember that these are the endurance building weeks. TIME ON YOUR FEET is the goal. BUT…if you are feeling unsure, injured or just not ready…it’s ok to CUT BACK. You know what your body is ready for. It’s very difficult to put a schedule out that is for everyone. We all have to do what we have to do. This goes for the rest of the schedule from here on out. If you’ve been pretty much following the schedule, you are technically ready for a January HM or FM. Just keep getting out there and doing what you can do. If you want some help on adjusting the schedule for YOU…I happen to specialize in just that 🙂 Happy to help you get to that January race with what works for YOU!
Here are the routes for this week, with water at Harkey. Good luck to those racing this weekend AND to those grinding out on the training runs. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy Runs Y’all.
