Hi y’all,
Was so great to see everyone out yesterday morning for our official kick off!
Laurence and Daniel are still working on finalizing the schedule, so in the meantime this week’s schedule can be found here: https://goparr.com/this-week/ (each week we’ll update this after the Saturday run, it’ll be straight from the big schedule that will be posted later this week).
Couple of highlights from Laurence’s 2017-18 schedule talk yesterday:
- A little bit lighter mileage year
- We will alternate Hill weekends between Half/Full Marathon Groups
- Monday – Regular group that meets at the Natatorium at 4:30AM for hills (your pace does not matter here, bridge repeats so everyone stays close by)
- Wednesday – Weekly track workout available Wed AM 4:30AM at Rogers Middle School Track (you don’t have to come do speed work, you can also just run. Again, pace doesn’t matter here)
- Friday Social Runs – the Friday Recovery Runs will alternate between Wild Pear and Turner each week – another chance for all of us to get together.
For having ONE OFFICIAL run each week on Saturday, this kinda looks like a lot of opportunities to run?!?! If you make the above your plan, you will be GOLDEN come January. Thinking 4:30AM is nuts? Give it a try for a few weeks, it won’t be an issue. Home and showered before the rest of the house moves? Dreamy. Whether you do it alone (*gasp*), or meet up with a group…this week’s schedule is the easiest week we’ll ever get! Take advantage of that!
Laurence will also be working on putting folks in pace groups, but in the meantime we will be continuing to meet at Turner until Sept 2, so we will all start/stop at the same time…GREAT time to meet folks running your same pace.
Also, we are still struggling with some email deliverability issues – so sorry if you’re amongst the communication overkill. A reminder that you can always see any emails that go out here: https://goparr.com/category/17-
We’re always a little clunky off the starting blocks…bear with us, new folks, as we get this rolling. Get running, show up and the rest will fall into place. Lots of great things happening this season and we’re excited you’re here!
