WEEK 10 – Saturday, 09/22/18 – Did someone say chocolate milk???

Hi Y’all,
It looks like we had a big group at the Toughest 10k in Kemah. Congratulations to those who ran in very tough, humid and hot conditions.
The last few weeks may have been stressful for some members who achieved their Boston Qualifying times and are waiting to hear if they’ve been accepted to run in the 2019 Boston Marathon. The number of entries increased again this year, which means unfortunately, not all qualifiers will be accepted. I guess this running thing is popular with some folks and people like to do it.
Regardless, congratulations again to all of the 2019 Boston qualifiers: Valerie Boessling, McKenzie Salazar, Shannon Stroope, Terri Stone, Kelly Heintz, Rebecca Decker, Babes Hoffower, Rhonda Emerson, Julie Williams, Crystal Mille, Hal Bohn, Humberto Escodebo, Paul Ohlemacher, Kay Stewart and last but not least, Pam Greene. I apologize if I missed someone. There will be a big PARR representation in Boston April 2019.

Scheduled Saturday Run Details – Start at Wild Pear

Wild Pear Running Store, 9330 Broadway, D-400, Pearland, TX 77584 is our starting point for this Saturday’s run.
This Saturday may be the longest run EVER for some of our members, so we will havechocolate milk and many HIGH FIVES and HOORAYs to give out at Wild Pear at the end of the run.
Going forward, every other week will be the longest run for our new FM’ers and HM’ers. Please be mindful of your body as you ramp up the weekly miles and don’t be afraid to rest.

No yoga or core this week.

PARR SHIRTS and Wild Pear Gift Certificates

I am too excited to not give you all a sneak peak of the new tri blend tanks and t-shirts with the PARR logo. The tanks/shirts look great and I’m sure they will be a hot purchase item for our members. From what I’ve heard, the shirts may be a size too small and the tanks may be sized right. Wild Pear will have sample shirts available for you to try on before ordering.
David Rosenthal will provide further details on the main PARR FB this week and will hopefully post some pictures.
Please remember that David does not keep these new shirts or the PARR orange shirts in stock and he only submits a new order every week or two, depending on demand. So, please be patient while waiting for shirts to arrive.
There are still many unclaimed $25 gift certificates from Wild Pear. Again, if you signed up with PARR this season, you automatically receive a $25 GC from Wild Pear to be used however you wish in the store. So, please go to Wild Pear and claim and use your Gift Certificate – they have a record of who has picked up!  If you don’t use the GC by December 31, 2018, they will expire and will no longer be available.
3rd Annual Pearland Turkey Trot – Thursday, November 22, 2018
