#PARRRacing !!

The running and racing continue as our PARR members run across the globe. We had another great weekend of racing for our members where some of us ran New York City, some others ran the Katy 10 Miler, a few participated in the Oilman Half Ironman and one member completed a full Ironman in Florida. Congratulations to runners and triathletes who achieved PRs including Daniel Goodwin in the Katy 10 miler and Khon Troung in the Oilman Half Ironman. And Julie Williams continues to be a force in the 10-mile races and achieved another 3rd place podium finish in her AG. I’d like to congratulate Terri Stone on completing another Ironman in Florida. This was her second Ironman in less than 6 weeks and she’s going to embark on her third Ironman in Arizona next week.
For this weekend, we have several PARR members competing in the Cypress Half Marathon, some others are taking it out of state and running the Las Vegas Rock & Roll Half Marathon and McKenzie Salazar is taking it global by running the Athens Marathon in Greece.
McKenzie was one of two Houston Marathon winners selected in their exchange program and she’ll be followed around by our local ABC13 news crew. We will follow her race and look forward to seeing her story on our local news after she returns. We want to wish her a very safe journey and a great race.

Nov 10, 2018 “ELDOA” Presentation after Saturday run at Wild Pear @ 7:30 a.m.
Don’t forget we have the ELDOA presentation this Saturday, after our run.
ELDOA – what is ELDOA?
State-of-the-art techniques that specialize in nerve compression, muscular imbalances, joint dysfunction, back pain, neck pain, headaches and other related conditions that are spine related. E.L.D.O.A. is applicable to persons of all fitness levels – from athletes to those just starting their fitness journey, E.L.D.O.A. supplies the tools you need to correct and alleviate postural and injury related pain in the body.
Kevin Cruz is a ELDOA certified instructor and he and his assistant will take our group through some myofascial stretching with an emphasis on runner specific stretches.
You will get more out of this class if you actively participate so it is highly suggested you bring your yoga mat.

We’re starting from Wild Pear again for our Saturday run.
FM – 5:00 AM –MARATHON PACE RUN: 15 Miles 4 miles easy, 50 minutes at marathon pace, finish with easy pace. The purpose of this workout is mental preparation for the Marathon. Route – https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/fullscreen/2304937441/

3rd Annual Pearland Turkey Trot – Thursday, Nov 22, 2018
The next PARR sponsored race is the 3rd Annual Pearland Turkey Trot. It’s another popular event for our members and their families and it is only a few weeks away on Thanksgiving Morning. There is a Kids K/1- mile walk/ 4-Mile Run/6-Mile Run. The proceeds benefit the Forever Parks Foundation of Pearland.

1st Annual Pearland Half Marathon and 10k – March 23, 2019
You may have heard Pearland will have its first ever Half Marathon race next March. PARR wants to do our part to support local races and merchants. Registration is open by following this link:
Additionally, PARR members should consider volunteering for the event, if not running.
