WEEK 12 – Saturday, 10/06/18

Hi Y’all,
We’re almost at mid-season and we know the struggle between mind and body with the added obstacle of injuries makes it especially challenging throughout the training season. Some of you are experiencing the ups and downs of training for the first time. My hope is that you don’t feel alone in trying to reach your goal, and you’ve been able to meet some wonderful PARR veterans and members who are helping you along your journey.

This week may be the longest run for some of our first timers and it’s important for you to congratulate yourself on completing the run and also make sure you rest your body appropriately afterwards. Please always remember that allowing the body to rest and recover is just as important as the workout.

Congratulations again to our PARR members, Kaylin Olson, Terri Stone, Jesslyn Reed, Julie Schultz, Anthony Bruno and Marie Mickelson, who successfully completed their Ironman race in Maryland. These amazing athletes have done it multiple times and they make it look easy when it’s not.

I hope you were able to get your shirt orders placed with David and Wild Pear. David has requested for all shirt orders to be placed before 10/31/2018. After that date, he likely won’t be taking any more PARR shirt orders.

Also, there are approximately 30 unclaimed $25 gift certificates from Wild Pear. If you don’t use the GC by December 31, 2018, they will expire and will no longer be available.

Daniel Imrecke tells me that we should see an increase of meteor showers during the month of October if you’re looking toward the southern skies. For the early morning runners, you may want to look left or right, depending on your direction of travel, as you run along Magnolia. But always be mindful of the uneven sidewalks and cars.
