WEEK 13 – Saturday, 10/13/18

Hi Y’all,
What a crazy week. Temperatures dropped into the 60s and there is a rumor that it may get into the 50s next week. The horror!! It may be obvious I have an unhealthy obsession with the weather. We may be treated to good running conditions for Saturday’s run/walk, so I’m hoping to see lots of members join our group run.
The half marathoners will have their first double-digit run this Saturday. I believe that if you’re able to run 10 miles, then you’re able to finish a half marathon. In other words, you’re virtually ready to run your first half marathon, so the only thing you can do now to screw it up is to get hurt. Please try to not get hurt, which means don’t push it if you’re feeling any sort of pain.
Congratulations to our PARR members, Pam Greene and Steven Miao, who successfully ran the Chicago Marathon last Sunday. Pam was able to qualify for the Boston Marathon again in a fast 3:29:xx so we may see her run in Boston 2020.
