WEEK 14 – Saturday, October 26, 2019

Hi Y’all,
It’s officially racing season! I’m pretty sure there are races scheduled every weekend between now and the end of our training season (and beyond!). Whether you are using these races as training runs or going for the big PR, have a plan and trust your training. You’ve got this!
It looks like we will once again have a good showing at the Houston Half Marathon and 10k this Sunday. If you haven’t responded to the poll on Facebook, please do so we know how many runners to expect. Last year we had the largest team at this race. Can we do it again???
For those of you running the race, stop by the Pearland Half Marathon booth at the Expo. You might see a familiar face or two! ?
We will have a tent in the Run Club Village for pre- and post-race festivities. Really it’s just a gathering spot. I don’t know our exact location yet, but you can’t miss us – we’ll be the ones with the ORANGE tent! Let’s plan to meet at our tent at 6:15 for a photo. Please use the Facebook group to coordinate carpooling, if you’d like.

#PARRswag
The clock is ticking for you to get your shirt orders placed with Wild Pear. They’ve also got some new swag this year, including JACKETS! (maybe we’ll actually need them soon!) David has requested for all shirt orders to be placed before 10/31/2019.
#PARRHelpingOurOwn
You guys know we’re not just runners, right?!?!?! We have some really GENEROUS and CARING people in our group who always come through BIG TIME in our members’ times of need.
Meal Train for Kathleen Fillingame
On our long run this past Saturday morning, Kathleen had a tremendous fall. She ended up in the ER with a traumatic break to her arm/wrist which a couple days later ended up needing surgery to fix. This break was substantial and she is experiencing quite a bit of pain. This meal train is for her running and church family to be able to volunteer bringing meals and/or to make a donation to help ease some of the stress that comes with taking care of a family and paying medical bills. There is also the option to purchase meal cards if that works better for you. Thank you Shelly Higgins for organizing this! If you are interested in signing up, click here.
Happy Hour and Fundraiser for Julie Williams
Plans are underway for a social event/fundraiser for Julie Williams’ 100-mile run in November. Thank you Anne Turnbough for organizing. There is currently a poll on Facebook to vote for your preferred date. Stay tuned for the event invitation from Anne!
