WEEK 24 – Saturday, 12/29/18

Hi Y’all,
I hope everyone is having a safe, restful and joyful holiday break. We are nearing the end of our 2018-19 training season and we’re going to cap off 2018 with the longest scheduled run of the year for the full marathoners (20-22 miles) and half marathoners (11-13 miles). After Saturday, you’ll reach the proverbial downhill as you ready yourself for race time in a few weeks.
I want to mention two important reminders, registration for the PARR party on Saturday night, January 12, and for the Pearland Half Marathon to take advantage of the early bird pricing. We have around 120 confirmed guests for the Party which is awesome, but our group has over 300 members so many of you are either not attending ☹ or have not registered. Please try to attend and register at your earliest convenience. Information on registration is stated below.
Tacos anyone? We’re also going to have breakfast tacos for our members at Wild Pear on Saturday, and we hope you’ll hang around to enjoy the tacos and to socialize with fellow members. Even if you aren’t able to run, please feel free to come and enjoy some tacos with us. There’s a poll on Facebook, so please respond so we know how many to buy.
For all of us who have traveled so far this year, it may be a time to reflect, not just about forgettable and unforgettable runs and races, but about the personal triumphs and struggles throughout the year. As we turn another chapter in our lives and leave a piece of us in 2018, we welcome 2019 with the same spirit we have when we run. Happy New Year to all of you!

#PARR Party
Our year-end Annual party is on January 12, 2019 and registration is open. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try to attend and register ASAP if you intend on coming. You may have difficulty registering on your phone or PDA and may need to register on a desktop or laptop computer.
Be sure you are logged into the PARR Website
  1. Go to https://goparr.com/parrty/ or choose End of Season PARR-ty from the Member’s Area menu. Click on the graphic.
  2. Select “Member Ticket” first. You will need to select your drink of choice before you click “Add to Cart.” We’re not necessarily going to hold you to this, but it definitely helps in our planning efforts.
  3. Please note that each registered Member will have to register themselves under their own log in. We realize there are families that are all members, but we had to limit the FREE admission to ONE per member.
  4. Once you’ve added yourself to the cart, you can also add a guest(s) the same way.
  5. Once you’ve got your guest registered, click VIEW CART and checkout.
  6. If you’re not bringing a guest, then PLACE ORDER. If you are bringing a guest(s), then it will ask for your payment information.
If you have any questions, please email info@goparr.com. We do our best to respond to these emails within 24 hours.

1st Annual Pearland Half Marathon and 10k – March 24, 2019
The early bird pricing on this race will end in a few days, so if you intend on running this race, please register before the end of the year.
This is a PARR Sponsored event so we hope many of you will join us by making the first year a great success. You can make it a family event by encouraging your family members to run/walk the 10k. Registration is open by following this link.
Additionally, PARR members should consider volunteering for the event if not running.
I hope to see you on Saturday for a run AND a taco!
