07/24/14 – Updated Schedule & Mini-Explanation

Hi y’all,

I just updated the schedule to the website and made a few tweaks and clarifications. https://goparr.com/schedules/ (remember you need to be logged in)  I got a lot of questions back…and i answered them all totally WRONG.  So please read below what for I was supposed to say!

All of the training plans are included in the file and it reads across the page:

Full Marathon – this is the usual schedule that is sent out that has folks prepping for the full and there’s no messing around. All types of walk/run intervals here. {Some of us have been known to make one up THE NIGHT BEFORE a marathon. True story.}

FM Time-Based – this was created for those that are planning to run the marathon straight through AND it’s not their first rodeo, I mean marathon.

Half Marathon – again, the usual schedule that is sent out (what I said about Full)

FM Minimum Minutes – this is another full marathon option for folks wanting a little less aggressive training plan {also one OK to switch back and forth to when you’re just not feeling it. My words, not Ric’s 😉 }

HM Minimum Minutes – again, option for those running half marathon and wanting to run the minimum to get them to January 18.

We added the different options because not everyone is the same…different goals, different pain thresholds, and sometimes plans change and you need to modify.  All of this can be tweaked on your own as well.  You’ll see throughout the season folks that are doing their long runs on Friday mornings or Sunday mornings just to get their runs in. Will be easy to find someone to join you, either because they need to switch it up too or they’re just great and don’t mind to do it!

Details for Saturdays Run will come again as well in my normal mass email to everyone, one last time. So I apologize if you get a double email.  Here’s the plan:

Professional Building (PB)  2225 County Road 90

Full Marathon – 6:10AM – 70 minutes out and back

Half Marathon – 6:30AM – 50 minutes out and back

Route: One more time (we’ll switch it up next week!) Leave PB to the left, turn LEFT on Northfork, RIGHT on Cullen, LEFT on Magnolia/Southfork (turnaround at your midpoint, wherever that may be)

Bring a towel/mat too, because we’ll be having some awesome {CORE} and S-T-R-E-T-C-H workouts to follow!

Let me know if you have any additional questions on the schedule.  I will try to answer them correctly this time.  Ric is also going to discuss in more detail on Saturday.

Happy Run Y’all,

Aimee
