Hi Y’all,
LAST WEEK OF HILLS! It’s about time. And it’s always this time that I’m just D.O.N.E. with hill work! After Saturday…onward, friends.
Wanderers
We have just about got everyone placed in a Pace Group…there are just a few of you left who will now be stalked. Worried? If your name is HERE, then help me get you in the correct pace group! Just reply to this email and we can get you where you need to be. Here is the direct link to the groups => https://goparr.com/groups/
Chance for Hope GO GOLD Fun Run
Just a reminder that the Chance For Hope Go Gold Fun Run is coming up on September 10…and this FRIDAY is the deadline to get one of their Go Gold Tech Shirts! It is going to be a NEAT event. It’s the Chance for Hope Foundation, so OF COURSE it is. I just MIGHT have gotten a little preview of what they have in store. And it’s not your run of the mill 5k/10K race. FREE FOOD for the runners. A FREE RAFFLE for the runners. And it’s a raffle with some GOOD STUFF, y’all. Stuff we love. And I’m not talking about a free t-shirt, people. Pearland came through to support Pearland…so you don’t want to miss out on that! Then on top of all of that…fun kids activities and entertainment. The schedule has FM doing 12 miles that week and HM doing 7…so we’ll be able to sneak in extra miles ahead of time and then finish off with the race. Bring your family too…5k Walk or 5k/10k run. I know PARR will show up big, because that’s what we do! Here is the link to register => www.signmeup.com/114404 and please feel free to share the event outside of here too! This what our own Andrea Davidson and the Chance for Hope Foundation does => http://
Saturday Info
We want to CELEBRATE our FINAL WEEK O’ HILLS…so the plan below has us all returning at the same time and we’re gonna skip CORE this week. We’ll do a BIG CHEERS with some chocolate milk and donuts and then we’re gonna have a #allPARR gathering to give a little preview of the season, introduce the group leaders, answer some questions and lay the groundwork for another great season! So…please plan to come if you can. We should be done by about 7:30 or so.
We are going to keep the bridges as the same as last week – HM to Magnolia and FM to Bailey.
Just a friendly reminder…SINGLE FILE UP AND DOWN THOSE SUCKERS and stay to the right….ON YOUR WAY UP and DOWN. There are so many people out there and everyone wants to get their run done at their pace. PASS ONLY ON YOUR WAY UP. If someone is going slower than you want on the way down, wait until you’re at the bottom to get in front of them, so the folks trying to sprint up are able to do so in the passing center lane. It’s the cool down. It’s okay.
FM: Depart Turner High School at 5:00AM for 110 minutes and 12 HILLS. You’ll do a warm up to your liking, and then head to the BAILEY BRIDGE. You’ll do your hills here, then a cool down and should be back at the track by 6:50AM.
HM: Depart Turner High School at 5:30AM for 80 minutes and 8 HILLS. You’ll run behind turner to Veterans, then head up to Magnolia and turn RIGHT. The MAGNOLIA BRIDGE is where you will do your 12 HILLS. IT’S YOUR BRIDGE. Then do a cool down and you should be back to Turner by 6:50AM.
AND…be sure to give Frankie Zucha and Laurence Tien a BIG HIGH FIVE and THANK YOU for being your water HEROS these past few weeks. They have been the ones to get there early with ice cold water for you and waited until every last one was done and gone before picking it up.
Social Committee
Pam is getting all of her people together for the social committee and asked that those interested to reach out to her at pamnoey@yahoo.com – this is the group that will coordinate our celebratory chocolate milk days, kids jingle bell run/celebration and our year end throw-down…and anything else y’all dream up.
Happy last week of hills, y’all! Let me know if you have any questions!
